What is wrong with Betsson owning and investing in affiliateportals?

Us affiliates are for example also profiting from the tv ads casinos are spending money on. Do you hear the casinos complain about that?

Well, the way they threat affiliates is not cool. Also, for consumers this sort of websites are quite useless. It's not giving any objective informations. It's just a Betsson-ad. They should at least inform their visitors, that this website is a Betsson-website with information written by Betsson and about Betsson.

Álso it's quite clear against the Dutch law and even against the prioritation criteria of the Dutch KSA.

They own many more affiliate sites in Holland. How do you see this as unfair? The disadvantage is that the affiliate program can see where the good traffic comes from and they start competing on those keywords. Maybe that is what you mean. Many of their sites weren't managed properly and got penalized.

It seems the sites https://www.casino.nl/ and https://www.onlinecasino.nl/ (which were definitely part of the Oranjecasino and Krooncasino deal Betsson made back in 2014 ) are up and rising in the Dutch SERPS again.

Funny that Betsson (if they still belong to the Betsson Casinos Group?) promote pretty shady brands on those sites...

Killer URL's though, a pity to see them in the hands of an operator!!!

Funny thing that Betsson puts a gun to affiliates heads saying they have to comply all local rules else account gets close while advertising for illegal sites in the netherlands themselves...

They did something similar with bets10 in Turkey where gambling is also not legal (and then the bets10 affiliates stole commissions).

Among other points made in this thread, such as using an unfair advantage of seeing affiliate stats from all the markets, keywords etc from all the affiliates and their sources, the part of also exerting their power and control and threats of seizing accounts and or withholding commissions for breaking the exact same terms that they are also breaking without harm to their own sites is the most disgusting part.

In fairness, the Dutch regulator did punish them and they are blocked from getting a Dutch license for at least a year.

Affiliate managers become affiliates all the time, it's a common problem, what I do find surprising is the number of operators who are happy to be listed on their sites. The competitor intelligence created for them is much harder to come by.

Just like everybody else....

And don't forget that, according to the Dutch Gaming Authority, Betsson smacked them in right in the face, publicly, to many times.

If you look at their casino's, Oranje Casino and Kroon Casino (now Loyal Casino and Casino Winner) in combination with their marketshare at that time, theire databases and amounts of affiliates promoting their products Betsson merely had a light slap on the hand compared to other operators.

For all it is worth I do wish to emphasize that I fully agree what Betsson did in the Netherlands as it was the best way forward IMHO, other operators that bended and bowed got shafted by the Gaming Authority eaqually.

At least Betsson had the balls to fight for their rights and were THE ONLY ONE that really stood up against the ridiculous restrictions of the Dutch Gaming Authority!
