Rick, if you've perceived it the way it was written - apologies for that!

Anyway - you can be sure I do not feel, think or will ever write something like that (if not by mistake).

Why is it then that Money Bookers has both a US logon and a Moneybookers International logon?

US Moneybookers members may log on and then click a link to Moneybookers International.

It appears to me that all services such as shopping enabling EBay etc as well as other account items are all available to US Moneybookers account holders, so if this is all restricted, why are US Moneybooker account holders even allowed to log on?

    Hi again, Rick.

You can use Moneybookers in the US for online shopping at our partner sites, e.g. eBay.com. You can accept payments if you are an eBay seller or another merchant, which is why we have a separate US log-on. This logon does restrict the account though, to prevent unlawful use, even when "international logon" is visible.

Moneybookers is a UK based, FSA regulated entity. Therefore we do not process payments in combination with unlawful gambling activity.

The unlawful use is explained in our T&C’s (section 11.2): ?..Countries where online gambling is illegal include the United States of America, Turkey, China, Malaysia and Israel. This list is not exhaustive and it is your responsibility to ensure that you do not use our services for transactions that may be considered illegal in your jurisdiction.?

For the same reason, we can not accept US gaming affiliates in the territories since the transactions of the gaming referrals are likely to be gaming related.

If other questions arise - please ask right away,

The problem I have now is why if in fact it is legal and ok to have us account holders using the service for shopping EBay etc.....why then would it be illegal to have us affiliates?

If a non-us affiliate signs up an account holder that only uses the service for EBay, is that affiliate going to get paid their commission?

If they are, why the restriction against the us affiliate then?

Why the restriction against the us affiliate to sign non-us account holders to use your services legally?

    Hi Rick,

It’s all about the restriction for gaming in the US. We, and our affiliates, are legally prohibited to promote and offer our services for gaming purposes in jurisdictions where our services are restricted. As we must avoid all doubt and be strict, we can not accept a US gaming affiliate. It is part of complying with industry regulations.

On another note: for eBay we provide payment processing - our service for the US, whilst what we provide for Europe is an eWallet - those are 2 different services. With the first you can pay with you card, but you cannot have balance, cannot move money in and out of your account. And then you have the eWallet - you can upload funds, send and receive money, use the balance of your eWallet acount. It is important to know that those services are really different.

I’d be the happiest person when the market opens, and all this is past. You know it’s a win-win business, as a part of which we will be more than happy to step into and work with you and the others currently affected. However, we cannot do it, yet.

I am looking forward to a brighter future, trust me.

    Cheers,
