Question Where do you get the casino data from? And how to keep it up to date?

Hi everyone! I am new around here and I am just working on my first casino review website.

I have a question regarding the content of your reviews, specifically the facts about casinos (such as the languages supported, currencies, countries, game providers etc.)? Is there anywhere I can download such data in bulk? Or do you normally have to go through each casino yourself to gather the data?

Another question is, how do you keep such information up to date? I have seen many review websites with incorrect facts listed in their reviews (probably gone out of date). Have you got any tips for keeping your reviews content up to date?

    Thanks a lot!

Visit the casinos and look, read their terms.

If you have unanswered questions before publishing, ask your affiliate manager.

Create an account and play the games yourself when possible since you will be able to answer most of those questions by doing so.

If you have unanswered questions before publishing, ask your affiliate manager.

To keep reviews up to date, check the casinos as often as is possible to see if there are any changes.

I collect all the data myself and store it in a simple database. Then i use php scripts to insert the info into areas on my site.

I keep the data once and reuse it over and over again. Means that if something changes I update in the database and it's replicated across the website without the need of spending ages updating content. It took a while to setup but has more than paid for itself since.

As for keeping the DB updated, you can employ someone to do it every month or so, or do it yourself.

Just adding the same content everyone else has won't make you stand out, so you need some add some value yourself. Up to you to decide what that is.

use some code ... write a custom scraper and / or parse datafeeds for each merchant at regular intervals.

I get all of my casino data mainly by speaking to my affiliate managers who are always there to help me (Skype is the best and easiest way personally) and by doing my own research into the casinos and what they currently have on hand to offer to people. I will also receive promotional emails from them every now and then which includes talking about some changes regarding their welcome bonuses, new tracking links etc. that I will need to update on all of my websites within a given time frame.

safest way would be to go to each casino yourself and subscribe to their newsletters. I often follow player forums as well to keep myself updated.

Thank you so much for all your replies guys. So it looks like the best way is to gather all of the info myself. It's a lot of work, but as you say that way I will produce more reliable and unique content.

    There are options.

If you're working closely with a couple of casinos, you can easily keep up to date by talking to your manager/asking them to update you regularly.

If you run a website with tons of reviews, you can hire someone to create a parser. However, if you are hiring, you have to work on the specifications a lot. Saying give me the stuff that's gonna give me the info on all casinos won't cut it. The programmer won't know the market well enough to make it good on their own.

Like some features may be only mentioned on banners, so you may want to get notifications when casino banners change to look it up yourself.

I've been thinking about this for a while bc my website is like that, but mostly my writers cover it with manual research, so it all remained a good idea with no implementation.

What do you guys think? Could this be worthwhile?

I'm doing a manual review.(I play myself) And I ask questions by contacting players via twitter.
