When to start link building on a drop domain?

Please share your experience/opinions.
Launched the site in December 2022 on a drop domain, about 20 articles were written out. some articles already rank quite high. I plan to start link building, first I thought about making links from forums to articles that are closest to the TOP10, then start doing outreach links to the same articles in order to raise them to TOP3.

Tell me what do you think? What is the ratio of forums/outreach? Is not it too early? or is it too late?

Forum links in most cases will not be on topic or themed. You want relevant links not links from forums about baking cookies or travel to articles about slots.

If the forums are on topic and rank well, and are worth having a links from, they most likely do not allow link dropping for the purposes of seo to push a list of pages.

It's fine to start with link building, just make sure to pace it properly. Don't start with 20-30 links per month. With a 50-50 ratio, you will be fine. If you want more power, go with a higher percentage of guest posts.
