Default Unknown files in WordPress core

I have a few unknown files when I do a Wordfence scan. Can I delete the files or should I be worried about files which were added by plugins/themes and it may potentially break the site?

Edit: When I view the files using a FTP client, it indicates they have 0 filesize.

Bit hard to give advice unless you tell us the file names, and, where they reside, EG - under which folder etc.

NB - just because a file maybe 0kb, doesn't mean it's no used.

It would be great if you could provide a screenshot or file name and file location. This way members can help.

I had a phishing issue with a few of my sites. I've found folders of fake bank pages.

These fake bank pages where on all of my sites (on a VPS). It spread like wild fire.

You need to be careful, and know which file to delete and which not to delete.
