TIP #1 OF 12 TOP SEO TIPS FOR 2012
LATENT SEMANTIC ANALYSIS AND LATENT SEMANTIC INDEXING
Google's New Knowledge Graph
16 May, 2012 - Google has for some, and is for others, releasing The Knowledge Graph Google Blogspot also mentions it here on the Google Blog.
I think you need to do 2 things to take advantage of this update;
Optimise your images and videos (I'll cover in a later tip). Create PDF's of the important pages, especially the ones with links and publish optimised graphs that you have made that relate to your industry. Use long tail and related terms, or Latent Semantic terminology.
Take this #1 tip regarding the all-encompassing integration of Latent Semantics into your every technique and apply it to everything you do from here on out, especially back links.
Hittail & Latent Semantics ?Hittail tracks in real-time what search engine and keyword/keyword strings sent the end-user to your account. These are done in real-time and register every keyword versus Google Analytics or similar programs that bunch keyword sets. This can be exported and used for long tail and Latent Semantic content. Latent semantics are basically defined as relevant, but not exact, alternative keywords. So a 'Jumper' in England is a 'Sweater' in the US. A 'Ute' in Australia is the same as a 'Truck' in the US or a 'Lory' in the states. Google, as well as other search engines, are claiming their algorithms are smart enough to know that if you are searching 'Lory' in the UK that you mean a truck/ute and not a parrot.
This is where latent semantic analysis and content become so important.
Tip: You will see a trend in every Tip, Trick and Tool in this session/document. This is the fact that virtually everything considers Latent Semantics.
Tip: The other MAIN point I want to make is that content is #2 on my list of crucial element. You can't be completely lazy on this one.
My method for content is to;
Search my targeted term on Google News in my target country and language
Look over the available articles and choose one that is around 500 words
Use The Best Spinner to spin the article until it is 60% unique. This will be very difficult until you master The Best Spinner. This must be a manual spin so don't get lazy right now! First go to your settings and turn on /select the best match' and let it spin
Hand-check all suggestions and eliminate the dumb ones and add any that you identify as making sense but not present.
Here's the key ?From this point pull the keyword sets that you get from Hittail (remember these are terms that are already sending traffic to your site) and integrate them into the content.
Save the keywords that you used in a separate file and send these to your link builders to use or you can use them as anchor text for your back links and social media strategies.
FACTS:
- The average search term query was two to four keywords 5 years ago. Today they are three to seven keywords. Search users are getting smarter.
- 1 out of 4 search queries are being searched for the first time every day. That's somewhere around 750 million queries per day.
- These searches represent 60% of all daily conversions
I use Hittail to collect the terms that are already bringing traffic to my site and send them to my content writers with the instructions to incorporate as many terms as possible and send me back the ones that were used. Then I use this list to build links back the page. This gives you a sufficient number of relevant keywords to acquire links to and still surpass the red flags Google has put in place to identify unnatural linking schemes. It also mixes your link anchor text with latent semantically correct keywords.
