    Thumbs down Surprise from Betfair

    Hello guys,

I'm affiliate at betfair at about 5 years, and today i recieve the following surprise email from them:

"Following an investigation, without prejudice, we have decided to change reward plan to your account. I am sorry to inform you that no rewards will be paid for future customers, reward will still be paid according to the old plan for customer already acquired. This decision has not been made lightly, unfortunately though, as a company policy, we are not interested in the kind of traffic coming from your site. If you would like to discuss this decision please contact us. Just to clarify, we don`t think that anything wrong has been made by you. We have just checked the activity of your customers and we think that they are not of interest for us. It is purely a commercial decision, hope you appreciate the fact that, despite the fact that your customers are not of interest for us, we will keep paying commissions on those already acquired."

This is because in the past two months my account have negative balance, and i reffer over 90 customer to betfair. Tell me it's this FAIR?!?

it looks like you signed up on a plan 5 years ago then? they state old clients they still pay on the same basis.. but now you will be paid the same as more recent affiliates? 90 clients in 5 years is 1.5 per month...

Looks like a grab for your players and a lack of respect for small affiliates.

90 players in 5 years is not bad for a small affiliate and as long as there is no additional quota you have to meet in order to continue to get paid on past players, you do have the option of sending future traffic that "could" have gone to Betfair to a different operator.

However, if there is a quota for continued payments, then they have found a way to push for continued marketing of their property and at the same time reducing commissions paid.

Also you may have to base part of your decision on what the difference in the percentage is for future traffic as to what a different operator will give you on players.

Although many of us would likely not think this is exactly fair, but it is well within their rights according to their terms and at least they did state they will continue to pay whatever old rate you had with them for all past players.

Are you sending lots of people who signup and just use betfair for bonuses?
More info is needed to fairly judge the situation, i.e. your site, location of players etc
Theres no way betfair would ban an affiliate if they just had 1 large player winning something, it happens to all of us

    Hello,

Wonderpunter the minimum deposit in my country it's less then 50 pounds (Bulgaria). JackTenSuited i don't know what the players do, maybe they signup and just use betfair for bonuses, but what can i do? My site is futbolniprognozi365.com, the most people are from Bulgaria. Yesterday i remove all advert material of Betfair.

They could always get away with this and that's the tough part. On smaller affiliates I think we are just forced to go along but I do thing that there will still be a way to counter this.
