RIP Brian du Toit (BigB)

For those of you who remember Brian du Toit (BigB) who was a regular here at GPWA several years ago.
I have just heard the devastating news that he passed away yesterday.
I don't know what happened except he did have various health problems in recent years.

I considered him to be one of the nicest guys in the industry and was also a personal friend, so this is a very sad post to make.

He had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need.

The world is a sadder place to lose such a kind man.

Just seen this now. Very sad news. I remember meeting him in London years ago. Ted introduced me to him and we kept in touch for several years thereafter. RIP Brian

That's so sad we did a few deals in my early days ,he was the one who bought my first website .RIP Brian

What was your first website Judy? because chances are that I may now own it as Brian gave me a bunch of his old websites recently. That's just the kind of guy he was - generous to the core.
I used to work with him at a bank in SA before we became affiliates and he was always well liked by his clients and used to go out of his way to give excellent service which just came naturally to him.

I recall mentioning just the other night while talking to another mutual friend in SA that I have been meaning to call him and touch base as it has been a month or 2 since we last spoke, beyond the occasional text. Of course now I feel the guilt of not actually doing so.

I second Heather's thoughts on Brian being one of the nicest guys ever in the industry, as well as his genuine honesty, integrity and generosity.

Rest in Peace Brian you will be missed

Back in 2006 BIG B/ Brian, Rick Bard and myself tried to start a Forum for Affiliates and Gambling Website Owners. Big B and Rick set up a fantasic website, (Took a good year), the U.S. became difficult to work with shortly after that. Anyway, Brian was an Amazing Website builder, and Rick too. I still have all my sites I started back in 1999. The G.I.A. that Big B and Rick built is one of them. Yes, it is not currently functional, but you can still see some of it! https://www.gamblingindustryassociation.com/ Just have to click on stuff to what still works! It was a great concept, and someday I may take another crack at it since the U.S. seems to be easing up on Online Gambling. Bottom line is that Big B was amazing at building this site, and SUCH a TOTAL PLEASURE to work with. SUPER NICE and SUPER SMART! You will be missed Buddy! Rest in Peace! Love Dan/aka The CPA!

I'm terribly sorry to hear. RIP, my friend. How very sad. Life is precious and we have to cherish every moment that we have. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I'm lost for words and I can't believe it.

I saw a post on Facebook from his daughter and such a shock. He would definitely have been one of the first people I would contact if I was heading to his part of the world.

As you said Heather, the world is probably a less better place because of his passing.
