We had a rat/rats living in our apartment about a year ago... We had no idea until we found half eaten apples. I actually thought my other half was eating half the apple and putting them back until the core was starting to get eaten too..

Rats/mice or whatever they were, were immune to the poison. In fact, they loved it so much so that when I put the entire box out and made it so they had to go through a rat trap to get to it, they moved the box so they didn't have to step on the trap to eat it...

Now the cat being useless... Maybe it's a member of greenpeace or something :P

We have a rat in the wall, I hear it scratching inside the walls from time to time. I've tried throwing rat bait into the ceiling, but im sure its just laying there.

And then there is the problem with possums.. possums and bats fighting on trees outside the house. Its like the hugest ruckus in the middle of the night. Shakes me wide awake, dogs barking... its an awful awful sound.

I prefer, mice and rats, in front of cockroaches any day. Those crawl in the plumbing installation around here, and it's not those small brown ones, it's those big black ones. I get goose bumps from them they r that nasty.

We had a couple mice make their way into our house this spring through a hole in our floor where the gas line comes up for our stove. Our cat actually did catch two of them, and when the third one got smart and was managing to outrun/out-think her, we put out some peppermint oil-scented stuff behind the stove to repel them and they haven't been back.
