Outgoing links from the main page
Dear All,
Could you please kindly share your comments and experiences on placing outgoing links from your main pages?
Does it have a negative (or positive) effect on SEO?
Is there an optimum balance between inner and outer links? etc.
Also if you have direct out-links, do you implement nofollow attribute?
Thanks in advance

You can make outgoing links nofollow if you are worried but overall, I would avoid adding too many outgoing links unless yo are selling them.

Well, the idea of outgoing links is just not pointing to authority sites.
It's more about referencing the content you have on your website. Please do understand this.

We usually just use nofollow for the very few outgoing links that we have.

If you value your site, consider outgoing links as a convenience to your user.
Google understands that very well. If the link is really useful to the user, there will be no negative SEO consequences.
If you're selling links it's better to use the nofollow tag, but I wouldn't advise doing so.
