    Default Oops

Just wanted to let you know that in addition to being late on the payment this month, when you removed some of your older links, some of the "bingo" links go to "sport". If you're planning to kill some links, should the affiliate using said links not be informed (in advance) that you're planning to remove links from the system?

How does this keeps happening? It's such a basic thing yet it costs us ALL money. If your changing the landing pages / links then let us know.

Of course, whenever I say anything, I'm "picking on them". The reality is that if they'd get their **** together, I wouldn't need to say a word.

Hypothetically speaking - if I visit Coral via a bingo affiliate link and arrive at a bingo landing page, if I decide that either "I'm already a customer" or I click "Play now" (and decide I need more convincing so I decide to browse what is on offer) - it is probably safe to assume (in both of these instances) that I am looking for bingo (and related games).

It is not safe to assume that I am interested in the Manchester Derby (as compelling as today's match is). It is also probably safe to assume that I am not primarily interested in sports betting. It makes no sense at all (to me) that sports betting is closer than bingo is from a number of clicks point of view. (summary - poor user experience --- which started on or around 11 September).

To me this are just dodgy ways for them of saving some money.

How about all the affiliate programs just STOP disabling links altogether....

Fine if a bonus expires or whatever and you absolutely have to redirect them, send them to the home page and capture the affiliate tag....

I am with Shay that if it was originally a bingo link of some sort, then it should land on bingo content....

But....i absolutely stand firm on the opinion that there is ZERO reason to EVER disable a link.

It must be an uneducated staff member who thinks they are disabling a promotion or something. It's pretty ridiculous that this still happens though, someone needs better training thats for sure.

    Hi Shay,

can you please email me on [email protected] with the links you are using please so I can look into this? Occasionally links will change if we have changed our welcome offers - so they display the new offer - which we did recently with Bingo - could it be that this was a bingo link you were using?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

Just as an aside, none of our links get disabled, they are redirected to a new offer - which is the case for the Bingo offer I mentioned above- or just point to the Coral homepage - the tracking does not get disabled in them.

If you think this has happened to one of the Coral links then please send an email to myself or Deborah who can look into this.

    Hi Sarah,

The group of links I was most recently referring to had to do with bingo. We received no notification in advance that anything was changing (though we get daily blasts about sport). I proactively changed the links we were using to something we were happy with, so I do not have the old links handily available to share.

Regarding the other post you made (disabling links) - there were a set of bingo links (about a month ago) that were redirected to sport (not ideal for bingo traffic).

As an additional suggestion - can the bingo landing pages be "adjusted" so that when a visitor clicks on "existing customer" or is not ready to convert and wishes to explore Coral some more, they are not taken to the sport portion of the coral site, but instead they move onto either the bingo or casino portion of the site? This would drastically improve user experience and I'm 100% certain it would improve conversions.

    Cheers,

    Shay
