Our gut feeling is that this will be the takeoff for the regulation..

Regulation is awaiting approval on Senate level right now..

Many operators & affiliates will boycott the conference imo. Pretty bad news coming from Netherlands and I have no logical explanation why the government decided to take the wrong way instead of preparing legislative procedures.

Well, landbased parties and some big parties respecting the laws strictly, want an equal level playing field at the beginning. Or they want to prove to Christian-Democratic and Socialist senators, that they're able to do some enforcement. They're having a bunch of employees there and they do not want them to get bored.

In two weeks it will be Gaming in Holland, there will be many of the land-based parties. I don't think AAC will be that interesting concerning this topic. Gaming in Holland is probably the place to be if any of the super affiliates will be discussing there this kind of things with authorities. But in the end, I guess nobody wants to be that much in the picture.

    haha why would They boycot?
most operators are based in countries where gambling is not permitted.
So Why boycot a conference when it is hosted in a country that not Accepts gambling?
Do operators boycot SiGMA in malta?
Loads of affiliates come from NL and others love to visit The Dam.
So still loads of business opportunities for operators in Amsterdam

I saw also Ask Gamblers, for example, made some changes to their website.

@Miles: It has nothing to do with being tolerant or not. It's all about money and market share. Parties that are complying the law, hence are not having an online casino, want a part of the pie too.

@Moonlight Cat: Dutch (Flemish) is an official language in Belgium. They are not allowed to target Dutch residents. Some of them do not accept Dutch traffic (so they can be in Duch without any problem, because Dutch player simply can't play there), some of them are in English for Dutch IP's and some are open for Dutch players in Dutch and with iDEAL.

iDEAL is also used in Flanders by people holding a Dutch bank account. I guess roughly 1,5% of the Flemish working population is working in the Netherlands. In Belgium are living 111.000 people with a Dutch passport. A lot of them are using Dutch bank accounts. These are numbers that do count in a small, saturated market like Belgium. Literally, the KSA is asking them to block Dutch IP's.

Kind of "interesting" what they will do with Belgium. Most Belgian brands also want to act in the Netherlands after regulation.

And the conference. I don't think many people will actually boycot it. But yes, it will be less interesting than it should be of course. For legal things, Gaming in Holland is the place to be. It's no longer together with AAC but a month earlier. Besides that some additional events were held, like Stockholm, Tallinn and in september Bucharest. Also, July is holiday time. I think less people will attend AAC, but not because of a boycot.
