    Default Member Focus

In a Stan James thread, I suggested I was going to go on a rant. I'm going to try to keep it short and to the point.

The GPWA leads many to believe that their order of priorities place the member first. The implication is made that the sponsor programs are held to a set of affiliate & member friendly standards. There is also statements that suggest if programs choose not to uphold the written sponsor code of conduct, they can and will be suspended until such time where the program comes back into compliance.

If the above is the case, why does Stan James not have their sponsorship suspended? Why are programs such as Stan James permitted to walk all over the GPWA membership with no recourse?

Affiliate Earnings, Bonuses, Winnings, and Account Balances

Sponsor will pay affiliates in a timely manner and in accordance with Sponsor’s published terms and conditions and will honor all of Sponsor’s written agreements with affiliates. Sponsor Companies will credit the accounts of players with bonuses and winnings in accordance with published rules and procedures and will promptly pay players any balance in their account upon their request. - source
While GPWA may be helpful behind the scenes, the fact that they continue allowing such behaviour from their sponsors is unacceptable. Quite frankly, by not suspending their sponsorship, it enables this rogue and unethical thievery.

You, GPWA have it within your power to suspend sponsors for not complying with the code of conduct they agreed to when offering up money for sponsorship. They agreed to terms and based on your wording, you imply to your membership that you will police them to ensure compliance.

    Sponsor Responsibility

Sponsor accepts responsibility for compliance with these terms by the Sponsor Companies. If the GPWA determines the Sponsor Companies have failed to comply with these terms, then the GPWA may publish its findings and associated background information. The GPWA may also withhold the provision of Sponsor Benefits until such time as the GPWA has determined the Sponsor is in compliance with these terms.
I call on you to be proactive and begin suspending non-compliant programs to send a message to the entire industry that you only accept programs who act ethically towards their affiliate partners (your members) and that you do in fact put membership over sponsor money.

We have the contractual right, and do suspend GPWA sponsor programs, when we determine that they have not complied with the GPWA code of conduct. However, legally our contract with sponsor programs allows us to suspend sponsorship only after an explicit violation of the code of conduct has been identified, and that violation is not corrected.

We do have serious questions regarding the practices of the Stan James affiliate program, and on May 1st, in response to the closing of an affiliate account, we made an internal decision to have a rigorous discussion with Stan James regarding their practices. At the moment I have several very specific requests outstanding for very detailed information around the particular closing we are investigating to more fully research and understand the factors involved.

Thank you for your response, Michael. I'm certain that those involved with Stan James appreciate the support from you and GPWA.

Activewins has also got a bit ridiculous. They have an IA rep answering for them but he is not part of Activewins (which is all a bit odd, if you ask me but hey - whatever).

Anyway, complaints are piling up about Activewin. I called them on sponsorship terms violations and wish to bump that, as plenty of people are having a variety of issues with them - and they're going unaddressed.

Michael is addressing the Stan James theft of "lifetime commissions" and players. You can read about how to help GPWA and yourself here.

I would like to see a similar approach taken against Active Wins, as they're giving my fellow affiliates a substantial haircut without justification. Their hired PR firm cannot even justify their actions.

It seems there is a lack of follow through on the Stan James issue. Perhaps an update and re-engaging Stan James is due. Pretty sure there's a call for suspension of Stan James sponsorship as well.

I am sure GPWA is doing everything in their power to get SJ to do the right thing. However I would still like to see an update from them.

Not to derail but what is the issue with active wins?

For clarity I have PM'd both Micheal and Anthony asking for an update etc, I also asked for all the details to be shared with me that Stan James offered up. BOTH PM's were ignored and not replied to

Instead of bumping the numerous unresolved issues, I'd like to remind that the GPWA seals are supposed to mean something. For example,

    Build Trust in Your Brand
Promote your program as a brand affiliates can trust. At the GPWA, integrity matters.
Affiliates know this, and it is important to them. When you display the GPWA Sponsor Program Seal on your website,
it shows affiliates you understand and value the importance of your reputation in the marketplace. Many affiliates check
with the GPWA before they choose to work with a program.
So, if the sponsor program seal, for example, is to mean more than the ?500 that the Platinum Sponsorship costs, it may well be time to address and take action on the legitimate complaints people have open.

I do not believe that I personally have any open complaints, but other GPWA members do. It really disappoints me that a member here lodges a complaint and it goes unaddressed in full. There really needs to be follow through and closure. If there's not follow through and closure on a consistent and somewhat timely basis, then a good portion of the mission of this forum is called into question in my mind.

If members count as much or more than sponsor programs (keeping in mind that without members and forum posts, there'd be less or no sponsors), it only makes sense to respond to their PM's and address their concerns as they're brought up in forum. I understand that there may well be things going on behind the scenes with respect to investigations, but is it unreasonable for expecting a quick update to an open thread or a return of PM?

Finally, I do understand that the likes of Michael, Anthony, Rick and company have an impossible job of keeping everyone happy (that will never happen, of course). I am also certain that those in the GPWA organization often have to wear many different hats, I implore you all to take a moment - a day even - to put the hat on that addresses and responds to member issues with sponsor programs. Give these members the closure they need and quite frankly deserve.

Good job Shy. Thank you. I was considering to become affiliate of Stan James. It's good, we still have plenty of other options.

Title of this thread: "Member Focus"!

    Let's focus!

    Dear reader,

contrary to others I have never seen Shay insulting anyone here on GPWA and never heard about, that Shay is insulting any individual on Earth or outer space.

I called his neighbors, spoke with his college teachers, even with the pool boy and to be sure I consulted a Bulgarian soothsayer last night.

The result of the research show, that he is anything but an offender, trouble-maker, agitator or someone who don't pay his bills or is kicking dogs.

    Unlike others.

    Many thanks for your attention!
