Default Lets talk Canadian deposit options

For me personally I am having trouble depositing at Microgaming or Playtech casinos as of late. I use to use skrill / moneybookers until they beefed up their gambling deposits. Then I started to use my mastercard ( capital one ) but since they are an American based credit card company, they also refuse to allow gambling transactions.

Could we dedicated this thread to what methods Canadians can use ?

Both Neteller and Skrill have changed their policies recently and will not allow Canadians to use their services for deposits at gaming sites. As a player my preference is to use either eCheck or Online Banking options because they are instant and free. If neither is available then I use Instadebit. $1 to deposit or $2 to withdraw to my bank account - still cheaper than any land casino ATM. Visa/MasterCard are options as well. I have two Canadian cards, one from Bank of Montreal. After 2 or 3 deposits they phoned me to make sure it wasn't fraud and haven't had any problems since. The other card has never had a problem with deposits.

Insta debit is a good alternative. The only thing I did not like when I have used it - is they actually do a credit check without telling you.
Other then that it works like a charm.

CIBC visa debit and ecocard works fine for Canadians. I have not tried the TD visa debit but assume any visa debit will work.

Speaking as someone who worked on card transaction routing systems for many years ... that would make sense CasinoBonusGuy

Debit account transaction (even when using VISA and MASTERCARD issued debit cards) are routed and processed in an entirely different manner to credit cards, going directly to the banks centre rather than being routed through VISA or MASTERCARD hubs.

The format and structure of the financial transaction for debit accounts is also much shorter with less information, and (usually) does not include a standard industry code (SIC) for the merchant so it is very unlikely that there is any industry checking or special condition checking on debit account transactions.

Yes ball2win - that is the case.

( Merchant Category Code (MCC) 7995 is the code for Betting / Casino Gambling. )

But, the merchant code is not sent in the transaction from the store/ casino site itself, it is kept in records at the merchant bank and only attached and forwarded on to VISA and Mastercard for credit account transactions.

When debit accounts are used, then the MCC is irrelevant as it goes nowhere near VISA or mastercard, and the transaction is sent to the bank where the customer account is held for limit verification.
