    Default LeoVegas - UK compliance

I received this email from LeoVegas affiliate manager Martin Collins.

    Good morning,
    Many thanks for your email.
This morning LeoVegas has made a company wide decision in regards to the UK compliance issues. Please find the link below.
    https://www.leovegasaffiliates.com/n...iance-uk-1312/
Unfortunately at this time we will not be able to reopen your accounts for the UK only, however all other countries will not be effected by this.
    Best Regards
    Martin

    I resend and asked why.

    Good morning,
Thanks for sending this back across.
Unfortunately for the time being we will not be able to re open your account. However please note this only effects the UK market, all other country's are still ok to push traffic too.
I would kindly ask you to remove us from all UK facing sites etc.
    Enjoy your week.
    Martin

So, today, I resend another e-mail and wait for reply.

Hello again Martin, I don`t understand exactly.
    1) Is this for smaller partners only or all your partners?
    2) Are UK players still accepted or restricted?

please re-check our list of bookmakers for the UK (UK Bookie list) and our LeoVegas Review too. Are you telling me to remove LeoVegas from our UK list? I want to clarify our website have most readers from the UK in comparison to other countries so this is very important. I guess we have all the info needed for the new UK Gambling Commission requirements (check LeoVegas Review). If not, tell me what we are missing here.

Isn't it because you have no link to their t&c's?

Perhaps they also do not want to review websites at which they do not have a good position. But anyway they should respect the existing playerbase.

I don't actually promote any bonuses, just a link to the casinos in most cases. I can still login and am earning from old players, but registration stats are zero for this month. To be fair, they did email on the 27th November, but the email was in the affiliate inbox which I never check.

Glad I removed this company! What annoys me is that UK affiliates seem to be getting blamed for being non compliant when I’ve seen on google many non UK affiliates with spammy seo techniques and out of date bonus info advertising to UK players! I hope LeoVegas reverse this decision or make this fair and tell all affiliates they don’t accept UK traffic from any affiliate..

I've just spoken to LeoVegas and they will no longer accept players from the UK, but will still pay for old ones.

When you say no players from the UK, is that just players supplied from affiliates or is it a blanket UK ban. I would of thought that the UK was a massive chunk of their traffic going on the amounts of adverts on the tv and that was recent.

I assume it's just affiliates they will not take traffic from.

That's just it a vague statement just does not explain the situation satisfactory. There are affiliates saying they were notified in the aff centre but my message box is empty. Does it apply to me!!!

I think the safest option would be to remove them from my sites. I bet they would still accept the traffic knowing they do not have to pay a bean in commission for the lead.

Another one on my wan*er list

I think that they still accept UK traffic, just not from Affiliates, bar the select group of affiliates "who can work with them full time" and they can monitor. That's what I've been told.

For us at least, they are being removed from uk sites. They are honoring old commissions on uk players however. Bit rubbish, I am wondering if other programs will also follow suit.

How would you know if you are part of the chosen few. I have had no notification either way that I am in or not.
Not even a warning about whats going on, it is only the GPWA members posting about the LV statement that I was even aware of something going on.

In the website of topic starter is a bonus offer without a t&c-link, perhaps it's that. I don't know.

In general, I think they will select the affiliates they will be working with. It sounds a bit like "Hey, we're not wanting to check monthly thousands of websites".

They seem to respect existing deals, so i think it's something fair. You can't force them to take new traffic.

That's what I thought to be honest, Sky could have easily done the same, although 4 days notice was a bit short. I bet there are 1000's of affiliates who aren't aware and are still sending them traffic.

I would assume if you are sending them 100's of players, or very high value players you'll be ok. Do you not have their Skype contact details? I'll send you it if you need it.

I send very little traffic there way, so am confused why I have not been contacted. I will get in contact with them soon, but please pass on Skype details.

I too, only found out about this via this GPWA thread. I must have missed their emails :/
I'm assuming select affiliates that are allowed to continue sending them UK traffic are bringing much higher volumes than us. But I am glad they are not shutting old commissions off completely, that's something I suppose.

Yep, must say here that I understand them. If they have to check some sites monthly or even weekly, it's not profitable for them. They'll select the profitable accounts for them and the accounts that's worth the risk for them. They should have notified everybody earlier, that's true.

I guess this will be a bit the future. Not just in UK, but in more regulated markets. Brands are not going to take any risk or put any effort in accounts of websites on which they are listed at place #75.

And let's not forget that they've started buying affiiliate websites and running them themselves.

I removed them awhile back so no great loss but I thought I would query it as I was planning on adding a new review. I have no plans to re-add if they decide they want the UK traffic. Looks like a templated quick reply.
