Ladbrokes say they are moving to Income Access software - that's positive.

Sounds promising - Ladbrokes are just about my worst converter and the stats just don't add up with that sort of brand power.

with massive brands like ladbrokes and william hill I always wonder if the registrations are low because people know them and already have accounts?

That was my thinking too, especially if the site targets people who aren't new to online gambling (rather than say, a football site).

"We will also be introducing a new commission model as from 1st February 2012, that will be based on the number of new customers sent every month. We believe that this model will better reward affiliate performance and moreover, you will now automatically profit from revenues generated across all our products. Commission will still be paid on the lifetime value of players.

Please note, when you first log in to your new account you will be required to accept the new Terms and Conditions including the new commission structure."

    Number of Players Commission
    Level 1 101+ 35%
    Level 2 61-100 30%
    Level 3 31-60 25%
    Level 4 3-30 20%
    Level 5 0-2 15%

    I'll be dropping Ladbrokes.

If the biggest bookie out there knocks 40% off affiliate earnings in one fell swoop, every other firm will too no?

I received this email about their move to 'Score Affiliates' too beginning next month, having referred well over 1000 depositing customers over the years I'm extremely worried about this. I must be missing something in the new T&C's, as it appears new tiered commission system going to affect earnings accrued from customers referred before the switch over on 1st February? This can not be right as that would be flat out stealing, but I can't seem to find any mention of what happens to old referred customers.

No. Ladbrokes has never run a proper affiliate program: rubbish software, ignoring emails, not multi-channel as standard. It has been going on for years. Decaying betting shops and rainy days on racetracks are Ladbrokes territories. They have never really got the internet.

Other firms appreciate the incredible value of only having to pay for marketing when it bears results - which i reckon is the USP of affiliate marketing. Ladbrokes have never understood this. They don't lead the field, they trail along tailed off at the back.

Yes, that is how it looks at the moment, a retrospective change of terms and, as you rightly say, theft.

I have been trying tell everyone for YEARS that quotas are bad even if they seem reasonable on the surface....

Often I have heard responses like "But it is a good brand" "But their quota is reasonable to meet" etc etc etc...

Quotas are bad for EVERYONE! Affiliates and the Brands....

The bigger affiliates probably have exclusive deals and do not have much to worry about.

I'm sure this will get a lot more attention once the week starts... Well I'm hoping anyway.
