HTTPS and non-secure items
Hello,
I've a problem and I can't find the solution on the web, so I'm trying it here...
I've a website with a SSL-certificate and https://. When I open my site in IE or Firefox, there is an error about non-secure items on my page. It seems that the external sources of the affiliate banners causes the problem. These sources are http and not https. When I change the sources to https they stop showing the banners. Does anyone know the solution?
Thnx in advance!
Kind regards,
Patrick

The BEST way to fix this is to "self-host" any and ALL images and content on any of the pages that are behind the ssl certificate. (pages that are https://)
You would have to download the images and put them in a folder on YOUR website, and that folder would have to be a sub-folder of the https:// site.
You would not have to self-host any images that happen to come from a site that uses https:// however you could get certificate mis-match warnings.
There is no other work around that I know of to get rid of this warning, since browsers immediately detect that a portion of your pages are https://

The two banners (Polder and Klaver) just above your footer seem to provoke this problem. On your casino section it's also full of banners provoking the same problem. Again the Polder-banner, the Big Bang banner, the Twenty One banner, etc. You display banners from a non-https area to a https-area. That's giving conflicts. Basically, everywhere where you have put some banner or media from an affiliate program, there's a conflict.
Another hint is to write your own content or pay some one to write unique and quality content. Quality over quantity. You'd better add one quality article a day than 15 copy paste articles. Same thing for all that "websites" you're having. Better do 1 thing good, than 27 things not even 1%.
I also do not know if Holland Casino sees the fun of pretending you're their affiliate program. Btw, I'm interested in one of your urls that's for sale.

Oh, and change it to https is not the solutions.
The banner is at https://affiliateprogram.com/heresyourbanner.gif and not at https://affiliateprogram.com/heresyourbanner.gif. That last link is leading to nowhere. You should host those banners at your own space. Which also has some more advantages.

Thanks for your answers.
I know that the external sources for the banners are causing the problems. I think I'll put them in my own folder. And I've already tried to change the source to https, but that's not the solution, indeed.
About the many different sites with the same content: I'm stopping with almost all my sites and I'm going on with only one or two unique sites. I'll try to write better content, if I have time for it.
I will also remove the pages about Holland Casino and wait for the right time. Maybe they don't even use affiliates to promote their upcoming online casino...
Off topic: please send me a personal message with the url that you're interested in.

Upload those banners from a non-https as gifs and add your affiliate link to each other.
