How will the Premier League look at the end of 2014/15 season?
With the Premier League kicking off less than a month away, the team at Colossus Bets have put together their thoughts on what the league standings will be at the end of the 2014/15 season. Do you think their predictions are accurate?
The Top 5 picks are below:
1. Chelsea
They may have faltered a little towards the end of last season, but there’s no doubting that this Chelsea team has what it takes to win the league. Comfortably. We're going out on a limb ?it’s what we prediction pros do, after all ?but we could see Jose’s boys having the league sewn up with a few games to spare.
2. Manchester City
Manchester City became champions last term without ever seemingly breaking a sweat. They were on top for a relatively short period of time, but they got there when it counted. They've an incredibly strong squad, as per usual, but we think that this year their throne will be usurped by the blues in London.
3. Manchester United
Many people expected that United would struggle to reach the heights of the Ferguson era under Moyes, but few would have predicted such a calamitous fall from grace. Under the experienced Louis van Gaal, and with money being spent in the right areas, there’s no chance that England’s most successful club will fail to achieve Champions League football for a second season. A serious title bid is probably a little out of reach, though.
4. Arsenal
As is often the case, Arsenal’s squad looks more than capable of mounting an assault on the league title this term, but for some reason that potential is rarely fulfilled. Wenger will be hoping to use last season’s FA Cup triumph as a springboard ?and maybe they will ?but we just can’t see them being able to match Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs for an entire season. They shouldn’t struggle to get their obligatory Champions League spot, though.
5. Tottenham Hotspur
Predicting how Spurs will play in any given game is the work of a true clairvoyant. Brilliant one week, appalling the next, manager-less the week after?the Tottenham merry-go-round continues to turn season after season. But, if there’s one thing Spurs fans can rely on, it’s that a) they will always manage to finish below Arsenal, and b) they’ll get a Europa League spot. 5th it is, then.
