Question How many pages/posts needed to start a new site?

    Hello All,

I am planning to build a new sport and casino betting affiliate site.

I am planning to upload 102 pages as a final plan.

I am also planning to upload daily news.

According to your experiences, with how many published pages do you recommend me to launch the site?

    To sum up;

Will it be a problem in terms of ranking, let's say if I will publish 10 sectional pages and launch the site. Then continue to publish the following pages and posts?

    Thanks in advance

From my own experience launching a site with say 100 pages from the start will have ZERO benefit
Why .... Because as a new site your website will be "sandboxed" which means you wont see any real rankings for a few months

I always launch the site with enough unique content to make it worthwhile, then every day add a few more new pages.
Google loves this as it can see new content being added on a regular basis

I also use Pingomatic.com at the end of each day to effectively let SE's etc know there have been updates

This is what I would personally do

I also agree with you. Thanks for your contribution.

I will publish the basic pages including "About Us", Main page content, Contact Us, Policy etc and also around 10 useful pages including the reviews.

That is all at the beginning. And I will add 1 page daily but continuously.

Cheers & Have an awesome new year

100 or a million pages won't make a difference if they are generic, really 100 pages is pretty small if you want to take on the top ranks

    You're right, wonderpunter.

You will certainly need many pages and time to work your way up into the top ranks these days. Just keep doing what you're doing and at the same time, keep finding new ways to increase your exposure and traffic on the internet, and you should start seeing some well and hard earned results before you know it!

The best of luck to you!

Agreed. Many thanks. Especially “Finding the new ways...” is the key to success in today’s highly competitive ranking world.

Sound advice. There are lots of techniques for traffic. Organic traffic will be rare but building content (worthy of being called good content) and attract social media traffic. In casino, we use winner clips or cinemagraphs for slots (videos), Facebook Group building from page 'liking'. You really need to think outside the box in this arena.

When you build content I'll give you a piece of good advice that we incorporate; Run LongTailPro (https://longtailpro.com) or install Hittail and identify 'long tail' keywords. Use Hrefs 'Content Gap' tool to qualify the performers and potential targets, then build your content around those terms.

Traffic is much less but better qualified to convert.

This and AMP integration, site UX/responsiveness and learning how semantics work. Ie. Ute=Lory=Truck
