Default A guide for promoting us with GPWA and ASA Guidelines in mind

    Hey guys,

Mr Affiliate sent out an email this morning if you're promoting us (in particular in the UK).

We've gotten our legal, compliance and regional experts together to put together some guidance on promoting us with UKGC and ASA guidelines in mind.

Most of it will be nothing new to us but let me or the team know if there's anything you need help or clarification on.

We're here to help as much as we can and staying compliant and protecting players is the goal here.

I've pasted the letter below. Sorry for the large expanse of text!

You know where I am if you need me,

    Laura

Being a gentleman comes with great responsibility which is exactly why it's so very important that we keep up to date and stay compliant with the latest industry laws and regulations.

For your convenience we have compiled a set of UKGC and ASA guidelines that must be strictly followed across all U.K territories, but should be reinforced across all GEOs in the interest of protecting players.

We are here to help and advise you as much as we can, so should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    UKGC and ASA Guidelines
    Protecting Young and Vulnerable People

    • Ads cannot appeal to people under 18, therefore only advertise on sites that have a very clear adult demographic
    • Ads must have adult themes so avoid characters of a genre that may be seen as child appealing such as Gonzo's Quest and Hansel & Gretel for example
    • If your ad is freely accessible and not for certain only going to be viewed by over 18s the last point is particularly important
    • Ads should not suggest that playing at Mr Green can help to improve finances, health, popularity, attractiveness and so forth

Making sure ads won't be seen as misleading

    • All bonus and wagering conditions must be stated in the ad
    • If space is an obvious issue, T&Cs should be no more than 1 click away
    • It must be clear that it is an advertisement, if that is in doubt, "advertisement" must be stated
    • Avoid advertorial style advertisements that may imply a person is guaranteed to win or improve his/her life
    • Ads must not overstate the likelihood of luck

Staying Both Compliant and within Mr Affiliate's T&Cs

    • Ads must mention ?8+, T&Cs apply and www.begambleaware.co.uk' if advertising in the UK
    • If using social media, the audience must be limited to an 18+ audience through targeting and have 18+ in the page bio
    • Social media posts must be approved by the Mr Affiliate team
    • Only double opt in mailers are acceptable
    • No pop traffic
    • No SMS traffic
    • No media buying allowed unless firstly providing us with a domain list of exactly where Mr Green is advertised
    • Mailers and content need to be clear that you are not Mr Green but rather promoting a Mr Green offer
    • If you have a network of publishers you are responsible for them promoting our brand according to these guidelines. A breach by a publisher will be seen as a breach by your company and you will be held liable, and, so could we.
    • Our brand should not be featured on any sites with streaming, torrents, pornography or anything of an obscene nature. The sites that Mr Green are featured on should be within the Mr Green brand guidelines and values

Take your creative from us to stay compliant

    • Only use our updated banners, mailers or landing pages as we work to keep them compliant
    • Only use Mr Green supplied banners and landing pages so that you don't run the risk of creating something non-compliant
    • If you are using JPGs as your banners, they may be out of date, so please contact us so that we can review and approve them. We kindly ask you to use our tracking codes for the creatives you use as we keep those updated from our side
    • Any variation of our creatives should be sent to your affiliate manager for approval

Failure to adhere to the ASA regulations is a breach of the Mr Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions so please implement the above if you have not already.

We appreciate you working with us on this and would recommend, if you have not already, reading through the ASA guidelines which has a wealth of information.

Why doesn't Mr. Green start then with not removing the RTPs from Play 'n Go Slots? Mr. Green has a Maltese license, but if I play some Play 'n Go slot I am playing from Curacao. I didn't even know Mr. Green has a Curacao license.

In the t&c all Maltese, British, Irish and Danish licenses are mentioned, but the word Curacao doesn't even appear in the t&c of Mr. Green.

Also here no word of Play 'n Go and Curacao.

Mr Green also offers products from additional suppliers that are not yet licensed under, or regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority or the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. These additional games are then licensed under their respective license. Games provided by IGT, Evolution Gaming, Felt, Push Gaming and Relax Gaming are licensed by the Alderney Gambling Commission. Games provided by Alliance Gaming are licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission. Games provided by Scientific Games are licensed by the Gibraltar Gambling Commision.

Mr. Green has a Class 1 on 4 license for Play 'n Go, but it's not mentioned in the T&C. Also if I click on a slot, I don't see that I've left Maltese jurisdiction.

Why not put the Play 'n Go slots on a class 1 on 4 Maltese license? Money can't be the issue at Mr. Green. We're talking about Mr. Green here. Not about some Curacao white label that is running from a sleeping rome somewhere. And why not display the Curacao license + information.

Perhaps it's some mistake, but it looks a bit weird.

    Hi Triple7,

We do indeed have a Class 1 on 4 with Play'n Go, having put this in place to support a migration of our traffic from their existing set up to a Malta hosted solution. We're actually working on that this week, with the expectation that we improve game loading speed, and spin latency.

The message about leaving Maltese Jurisdiction is on all games that are not under a Malta licence, so you'll see this on IGT and SGI, too, as you've already noted, but that list is not exhaustive and will be updated from time to time.

We can do a better job of keeping that information accurate though, so I've asked the Casino team to take a review of the partners listed.

Thanks for the questions though Triple7, good to see we're on the same page about player protection and regulation.

ALL operators should adopt this term, whether they are trying to follow UKGC or not. The sad part is that even many of those operators that do have a similar term, do not enforce it in any way.

Every single day I get spam from affiliates that use the From: "Casino Name" and that immediate makes it appear the sender is the operator, although it is never the case.

Disclaimer: To be clear I do not recall any recent cases of emails from an affiliate pretending to be Mr. Green.

First of all thank you for your reply.

    I got some additional questions:

    - if I remember well before I got a message above or under the game when I started to play some game that is not under Maltese jurisdiction?
    - why Mr. Green has chosen for the version with no RTP shown. Regarding for example Book of Dead I see Casino Cruise running a Curacao-version with 94,25% RTP, hence versions with the RTP shown are available? Btw, most casinos offer a 96+ % RTP version.
    - what is the RTP for Play n Go slots at Mr. Green?

I think if affiliates advertize a wrong RTP, it could be a problem too.

    Hey Triple7,

You should get the 'Leaving Maltese Jurisdiction' message. I checked on a few devices and connections and I do.

    Playn'Go RTP is 96.21%

I didn't get it for Play 'n Go, however I did get it for some other providers.

However, I see Mr. Green did the right thing and Play 'n Go slots are now running from Maltese jurisdiction, with a RTP in the game manual and it's the highest RTP that Play 'n Go offers!
