    Default Google Adwords

When doing some keyword searches on Google, I see a lot of Ads for gambling portals. A lot of these sites obviously employ no SEO as some have little to no authority.

My experience of Google Ads is that you can burn through cash very quickly. And I have a question as to whether or not this is a profitable strategy to have for affiliation? Just promoting a "top 10 casino list" portal on Google Ads and not employing SEO to gain organic traffic.

Really interested to know your thoughts.

First off....it would be a pretty big surprise if anyone reading this that's actually doing it successfully puts a hand up and says so.

But there's a fairly simple way of knowing....

Bearing in mind the likely CPC (I don't know and would be wildly guessing but assume ?5/ $50 upwards - depending on the search - might be a reasonable guess)

If you see the same sites advertising constantly/historically..you can be pretty sure that:

    1. They are either turning a profit...or....
    2. They are at a minimum breaking even (and benefiting in different ways)

If you see new names pop up then disappear then it's likely they got burned.

I guess there might be the odd occasion ( and possibly with the bigger operators) where they are paying for the visibility and prepared to take a loss.

Those that know what they're doing can make it work, those that don't can burn a lot of money.

Small tid bit of info here: https://news.cision.com/catena-media...media,c9855366

Right Casino Media, which is being acquired as a whole and changing name to Catena Media, is a London-based specialist company in PPC marketing based on a well-developed technology platform.

    ..

Right Casino Media has grown significantly in 2015 with healthy profitability. For the first three quarters of 2015, the company’s sales amounted to EUR 892,000, with a gross margin of slightly more than 55 percent.
There was probably a bit of organic traffic as well but I think the majority of their focus was PPC.

Usually people using Google Adwords for gambling ads use setup for masking IP and showing different set of ads to the review team. If you search for Adwords cloaker online, you will find many examples of such portals which promise running black hat and grey hat campaigns.

Recommending to use such ip masking techniques (or any other black hat techniques) to try and lie and cheat adwords, is not something I would recommend.

Of course, google never heard of adwords cloaker, and has no idea what folks are doing.
