First Look Games

Last week at iGB Live!, First Look Games launched its new platform and the team at ComeOn Connect were really impressed with what we saw. First Look Games offers affiliates a “one stop shop? free to use platform, giving them access to games, game assets and content on the latest slots titles before anyone else, plus equivalent content on existing game studio catalogues.

As we all know, very often, one of the biggest challenges for affiliates is getting information and marketing assets from game developers or operators that coincides with, or near to, the game launch. First Look Games puts control of content, game information and assets back in the hands of developers and can be automatically passed over to affiliates prior to, or at, game launch. This maximises the opportunity for affiliates to generate content and reviews of their own in time for launch.

With content coming direct from the games developer, it also ensures that affiliates are offering players the most up to date and relevant information, while also leading to significant SEO value in getting reviews written prior to or upon launch. What’s more, the information they publish is directly from the game developers, it means it is accurate, true and compliant.

How does it work?

Powered by a bespoke CMS platform, First Look Games has two main areas; the Game Library and First Look Premium.

The Game Library is where affiliates can access a marketing catalogue of games from each developer. This includes game sheets, embeddable demo games, in-game videos and promotional teasers and all manner of images from big win screenshots to logos to reel symbols, game backgrounds, and promotional banners.

First Look Premium service does this - and more - when game developers are looking to launch a new game to market. These assets are uploaded to a separate location only visible to qualifying affiliates approximately two weeks prior to game launch.

This means affiliates will have ‘first look?rights on game detail, allowing them to build out content and reviews before their competition and indeed operators which is great news in particular for SEO affiliates.

Additionally, First Look Games also offers affiliates additional services such as content creation and translation.

Our opinion is that First Look Games will be a huge hit with both affiliates and game developers and is a “no brainer?when it comes to free to use content when looking to market new/existing games. If you’d like to sign up and be an early adopter of First Look Games, click here!

Just had a run through, this is a great tool for on getting new games up and running with all details. Nice to see working demo links in there. I suggested a few items and they are interested in making this even better as they go.

This is a fantastic and productive tool for affiliates and there are a variety of things for people to choose from and there is a lot of awesome embeddable demonstration games. Nice work and this is what affiliates are really looking for in their business partnerships, and the best thing is that it is free!

bonustreak, I've just signed up now (as a publisher) and I received an email stating that they will review my application shortly and that I will be able to login starting from next week on the 1st of August. So, if you sign up now, you should be in the same position as me.

We’ve finally checked out your platform, guys, and it looks really promising! We’ve struggled so hard to find valid demos for some slots, and with your project, they are going to be all in one place. And it’s all free! There aren't too many developers who submitted their game materials so far, but we're sure it will get better in time. We can’t even estimate how much time your tool will save us, but it will be a ton. Thanks for your efforts and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback holymoly. We're obviously working hard on adding more game developers to the platform. Expect to see a few more in the next couple of weeks. I'm so glad you can see the benefits already

We have no plans to charge publishers for using First Look Games

For me it was instant.. though it's extremely empty inside, willy ou be adding some of the more popular brands? Netent, Microgaming etc?

Just tried logging in now and all is cool, yesterday it was telling me I could not until I was accepted. Had no notification either way but hey ho.

As for adding brands, it definitely needs more of the main brands. Have to admit not heard of a couple of ones in the backend.

@tomgalanis what sort of costs are we looking at for bespoke reviews ballpark figure?

I just wanted to further elaborate what publishers receive when they sign up to First Look Games right now. There are three slot developers currently available which enable all registered publishers access to over 30 games. Each game allows every registered publisher access to the following folders:

Demo Games: Demo games allow publishers to add an interactive ‘free play’ game when building out their review of a particular slot.

Game Sheets: The Game sheets provide the bare bones of the publisher’s master copy when creating their game review. Such as:

Number of Pay Lines
Number of Reels
RTP
Variance
Number of Symbols for Feature/Retrigger Available
No. of Free Spins Awarded (Minimum)
Stacked Wilds (Normal/Feature)
Expanding Wilds (Normal/Feature)
No. of Jackpot Tiers
Autoplay Function
Top 3 Operators (by performance/forecast performance, according to the developer)
Top 3 Aggregators (by performance/forecast performance, according to the developer)
Top 3 Markets (by performance/forecast performance, according to the developer)

Image Library: Pretty much self-explanatory, but hugely important especially when it comes to themed games. Using visual assets to compliment a slot review can put the publisher in hot water if the images used aren’t approved by the slots developer. All visual assets uploaded to Firstlookgames.com are uploaded by the game developer so each image is 100% compliant and safe to use.

Video Library: The video library carries short videos of particular segments of gameplay such as regular gameplay and bonus rounds. Using videos allows the publisher to showcase the many features the game being reviewed has.

We will be adding more and more game developers over the coming weeks, months.

As new game developers become available, every registered publisher will receive a notification via e-mail just to let them know that there’s new content/marketing assets available for download enabling every publisher to build authorative, helpful game reviews.

Apologies for that - we just upgraded the system to auto-approve so you may have been caught in the crossfire of that upgrade. We are working on adding more brands, but I'd say it's a great thing that you've not heard of some of the brands!

In terms of reviews, we have various options based on requirements and price points. Drop me a PM with which games you'd like to have reviewed, the sites/channels you intend to place them on (for an idea on style) and I'd be happy to put together some quotes for you.

Bit late to the party on this one as I'm running behind as ever. Elliott gave me a walk through of FLG at the end of last month and I have to give big credit to the team behind this! If this venture succeeds in gaining a significant number of software provider clients it's going to be a massively useful tool. As a group who are specifically looking to focus on and expand our slots review section over the next 12-24 months, the convenience of having all this marketing material gather in one place is a huge time saver. Getting free game codes that don't have in built casino adverts is another really big gain (it's a nightmare every time we decide to stop working with a group to have to search through the slots reviews and replace their free games). And getting access to games pre-release is a significant advantage.

I'm not often genuinely impressed with an idea, but this one I like a lot.
