Facebook Advertising

Hello,

My company own several betting related websites like stats24 - Years ago we was allowed to make paid Facebook Advertisings and we spent about +20.000 GPB .

2 years ago Facebook ''without any warning or explanation'' decided to close our Facebook add account. I know Facebook have other rules for promoting online gambling, and you need to be RMG approved advertiser, but they are asking for a betting license, and we don't have a license. I know many other betting affiliate sites having success and are approved, but how can we approved?

We need help to get approved and my company are willing to pay an amount for this.

When we completed the RMG form it was rejected and we managed to talk to someone on the phone. They advised to get our solicitor to draft a letter confirming we have permission to advertise. We listed the bookmakers we have deals with and in what countires we where looking to promote ads. Was accepted after we submitted this letter.

We did ours a number of years ago so not sure if the process is the same. We haven't run an ad for a long time but had no issues in the past.

I really appreciate your answer.

But can you remember what the solicitor need to draft in the letter? Because Im not sure all solicitors know what to draft in the letter if this is about permission to advertise betting.

From experience you really are wasting your time. I too had pages closed down that I paid ?000s in advertising for. They were happy to knowingly take the money, then after a year or so close them. I have also gone down the Facebook route via using a licence, it isn't worth the hassle, they just have you going round and round and round in circles. Also if they have previously banned your pages, the chances of the of reinstating them are between very very little and no chance.

He just wanted to see evidence of the relationship between us and the bookmakers. Mainly screenshots of T&Cs and log in details etc if I can remember.

We did have prior relationship with the solcitor so that made it slightly easier I am guessing.

This is really interesting because I spoke with the head of marketing at Facebook at a roundtable last spring and specifically asked if licensed affiliates would be able to advertise on the platform and he emphasized they plan to only allow operators and those with actual gaming licenses to advertise. It seems that might be a US only policy based on what you said above?

To be honest It has been some time since we advertised on facebook, when I get some time later will dig out the solicitor's letter and get all the information I still have.

This is the letter that we sent facebook, was a while ago however. Also looked our ad account and was around a year since we ran our last campaign. However we did get a facebook notification offering us ad credit yesterday so I guess our account is still active if we need it.

I also had bad experience with FB. Have lost several , good groups . After seeing their total ignorance in the first couple of months, I decided just to leave it all.

We are affiliate, in order to get new inventions and ways to advertise gambling products to the masses

Facebook never warn before they block and in most cases they don't reply when you ask them to reopen the account.

I would like to know if you managed at the end to get started again with FB Ads for affiliates.
If so, could you please let us know how to do the same?

Facebook used to be a great source of income back in the days when the "like farms" with thousands of followers were an option. Now is imao FB just a waste of money. I managed to run my ads for couple of weeks when there came another automated message asking for the same stuff. I looked at the numbers and decided not to go for that since it was a pure loss. There might be however some regions where it still works. Maybe give a try to pornhub promotion (right upper corner banner is the only converting spot). Costs peanuts and shows some results - this is however just my feeling, since I do not measure it.

Facebook has been a great marketing tool for us. The ads pay back the invest pretty well and as we are building a betting community, it is more than useful. Almost every finnish betting affiliate uses facebook because it is a good tool for advertisement.

I also had a negative experience with FB. There was an account that was simply disconnected over time. Now I can’t even register on the platform. Not even talking about making ads. FB doesn't like online casinos and there's nothing to be done about it. I also advise you not to waste time on this.
