Default Experiences getting licensed in the US

Hi all. looking to learn more about people's experiences with the legal aspect of becoming licensed to work as a vendor in this industry. I'm wondering if anyone would be available to privately answer several questions that I have. I'm located in the US so I'm looking for experiences from others who have gotten licensed here as well. Thank you 😀

Vendor meaning an operator that accepts funds for gaming?

Vendor as in a software vendor supplying casinos with software games?

Or vendor as in an affiliate?

It's pretty easy these days, the states that will give you some challenge are PA/AZ/WV - CO/MI/NJ/IN/VA are easy and IL/IA/OH/KS/NY/WY/MS/CT don't require licensing. Ask questions away here, I'll answer any I can, and I'm sure others will too.

Hey Mike, may I ask what type of vendor you are?

That COMPLETELY changes the types of responses you have been getting.

You will need a good law firm, and one that specializes in gaming law would be a good place to start.

Attend as many of the igaming conferences as you can make as many contacts with the actual operators as you can.

Take a look at these two guides, they might possibly point you on the path of gaining more knowledge or contacts.

Simply spamming out a general email is not going to cut it.

And unless you already have a full lines of games (10 or 20 or even 50 is likely not enough) it is a huge hill to climb.

The majority of the current software vendors out there supplying online or offline games, have years and years of tested in use games, and unless you can get any games by your firm in the door somewhere, not sure how you could ever get past the hurdle of the trust factor. I am 100% sure it can be done as it has been done hundreds of times the past 10 years.

Not sure any other vendors reading this can help point you in the right direction, but possibly with more feedback you might have a better path.

Easiest way is to get the operator to set it up for you, in NJ you need an operator anyway.

Most operators have all the forms you need and will help you fill them in. Be nice to one, set up a deal, send over the forms.

Pretty sure in NY you don't need a licence...
