Exclamation Email from AFFmore reducing commissions (identified as not phishing!)

Got this email earlier, apparently from AFFmore, with all recipients visible, plus, never saw the email address, so rather fishy indeed

Beware! I won't open the document.

EDIT: My apologies for the double image, was my first upload and it won't let me remove it again. Clicking on Manage Attachments opens an empty box.

    I will fixed the attachment.

On the basis of the email, it may also be someone that just is trying to give the appearance the email actually cam from affmore. Many phishing type emails often do a good job of impersonating real contacts at places and this may or may not be the case.

Got the same thing.. they change the commission to zero percent.

    Some of the letter;

    " Dear Affiliate:
This letter will serve as notice to you that effective immediately, all revenue sharing rates or commission rates under the Affmore Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions have been changed to zero (0) percent. Any other commissions, revenue sharing arrangements, or fees related to player acquisition, player deposits or player wagers have also been eliminated with immediate effect. Accordingly, as of the date on this correspondence, Affiliates will no longer earn commissions or any other payments as a result of player registration or any other player activity on any websites operated by Esports Entertainment (Malta) Limited (“EEM”).

These changes apply to existing players already referred by an Affiliate and any new players that may be referred on or after the date of this correspondence. These changes are enacted with immediate effect pursuant to paragraph 4.1.1.5 and paragraph 20 of the Affmore Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions. These changes will remain in force until further notice."

Has anyone verified with their management the emails are real?
Without opening any attachments that is.

I believe this email is real since I see this announcement when I login to my account:

I also have some due unpaid invoices with them... so far very bad communication, they said it'll pay over a month ago

I think they are going down the blacklisting path...

    Thanks,

Guess we should change the title a little if it's verified.

Title changed, but I still suggest caution on opening attachments from email addresses you do not recognize, just in case someone is taking advantage of a real situation.

Any confirmations of the attachment issue being a phishing payload etc, be sure top let Anthony or I know so we can add disclaimers to the first post or title as needed.

Thanks @universal4 for fixing the image thing.

I still didn't open that PDF and won't do it. The login message inside the AFF account indeed states what we long expected --> EEG / Spiffbet finally runs numerous online casinos into the ground. And, after encouraging affiliates to promote up to the last moment, they simply shaft everyone by announcing it on a Friday afternoon/evening. Sweet ..... not!

Luckily, we removed them from our sites months ago after tangling with their legal department to get our overdue invoices paid. Once I was on the final step before handing it over to debt collectors, someone from corporate legal at New York HQ got in touch and the money arrived within one day. I assume, at the time (AUG 2023) they didn't want the negative rumours and reluctantly coughed up the cash, roughly 7.5K EUR. After all, the EEG share price was in the gutter already then.

To send out a mass email with some 500 recipients visible in CC is another testament to what kind of amateurs they are. At the moment, we stand at maybe 200EUR in unpaid commission from legacy players, thus not worried.

If anyone needs emails for their corporate finance and legal, I can provide them. Not sure it will be of any use but I would start the legal process ASAP to try and get paid. A statement of account and final warning notice are recommended to be sure that outstanding invoices are on official record. Emails should be send with tracking to have proof should that become necessary.

That's a really lousy and disgusting move, by AFFmore. It's an absolute kick in the guts and it's remarkably stupid. Life has become very cold and unbearable and everything is so expensive. Yet, they pull this stinking low blow move on their partners. This is an outrage to say the least about them. The selfishness and greed is incredibly obnoxious.

    Just to update.

We recently acquired an affiliate site and discovered that AFFmore hasn't paid their commission since APR 2022!!! (not a typo) Total is about 6K, so not just peanuts. Brands were removed some time ago, thus only ongoing RS.

Naturally, I got onto the case and sent off an email, together with a new invoice since the company name was changed after the acquisition. FYI, we acquired any and all outstanding commissions.

    This was the response:

Thank you for your email. As you know, we recently made changes to the affiliate program, and we are in the process of conducting a review of outstanding affiliate balances. Under Section 5.1.7 of the Affmore Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions, we have 180 days to complete this review and will update you on your outstanding balance upon completion. Thank you for your patience.

So, I tried to check that term and it turns out they no longer have T&Cs on the AFFmore website. IIRC, legally that means they cannot enforce the term, although I am not sure. They also locked the AFF account now, so can't check much anymore

Plus, some of the commission was invoiced in 2022 and 2023 by the old company and AFFmore never disputed those invoices, thus in my view, they are fully payable and cannot be part of an audit/review.

Those commissions are indeed payable, and it seems they are trying to test your patience to see if you just leave it or if they can bend their T&C enough to avoid or reduce the payment. I usually give the benefit of the doubt, but this is a nasty move, and I hope you get all your money.
