Stay in Amsterdam, why should you move to another European city?

Easily reached by plane and train from many (european) countries.

Someone's said it before me, but I think Riga or Helsinki would be good destinations. I haven't been to either yet!

Malta is a great idea but SiGMA are already establishing that here, but I think if it took place outside of Europe it could put some people (affiliates) off travelling and attending. On the other hand, it could also open the door to new people attending.

Timbuktu - although the wifi might not work. Alternatively Marbella - forget the burden of big polluted cities!

Lol, the most original idea so far. This would definitely be an awesome place for the expo And regarding wifi, it sucks on the conferences anyway..

Will they? I thought it will be most earliest in 2017 that the Dutch market will be regulated. If their coalition will stand.... which is also a question

    Hi Everyone

I have to agree with Miles and suggest Cape Town (the Mother City), South Africa to be held at the Cape Town Convention Center. Amazing beaches, breathe taking views from Table Mountain, excellent wines and food, and friendly people. Definitely value for money.

Australia is a bad choice , most of us (EU citizens) will need visa .... who would bother ? lol ... its a pain!
I would go anywhere around Europe and maybe Russia too, however lol South Africa or Israel ... I think most affiliates especially small and new ones will not spend ?00-1k just for the flight .... and the rest will not fly long hours (i'm one of them) .... i just hate flying lol ... the max i did was 4 hours journey via plane and was scared as **** ..

I think it needs to be within the EU zone ...

What I want to say is that you need new affiliates ... and if you think you will reach these ones in South Africa or Israel you must be joking haha ...

    Malta is the BEST CHOICE!!!!

    just saying ...

I agree on costs while you're there - everything is SO cheap.

There are 2 problems though - online gambling is illegal there.
The crime rate is VERY high. People get mugged, beaten etc in a city like Barcelona. I don't think many people will be happy to travel there (SA).

I felt safe while I was there, but south africa in other countries has a bad reputation for crime.

Noone will come to oz. We had 2 here and about 20 people turned up.
It would be nice if everyone else traveled 24+ hours to us but I doubt it will happen.

ps. Regarding Malta, there's always SiGma..
Sigma is too close to other conferences and as you've said before, affiliates don't go. It's just a bunch of operators.
Since this conference is the supershow, perhaps sigma could talk with Alex and combine it within the supershow. That would make so much sense.
There would be more affiliates at sigma then too.

Agree on the visa part. That's probably why noone came to the last one.

Re the flying - imagine having to travel 24+ hours to any conference and pay over 2k for the ticket each time.

Since no one was happy with my idea of Timbuktu i will have another stab.

PARIS - Who cares if the French have some ridiculous gaming laws. Paris is the nicest city in Europe bar none. Accommodation won't be price inflated just because their is a trade fair going on. It's in the centre of Europe with direct flights. Internal transport is the best of any city, and their are plenty of venues.

South Africa is too far out of the way and that would mean a lower turnout. Lots of people including myself would boycott Israel because of their politics and bad reputation for Affiliate programs. Australia is great for a holiday, but too far out of the way for a few days at an affiliate conference. With regards to Barcelona having a bad reputation for crime, i can't imagine it's worse than any other major European city. Amsterdam is fine but not so interesting. Prague is a great city too!

    I was!

Regarding SiGma - it was much smaller conference, therefore the number of present affiliates was actually almost proportionate. They were also not very noticeable, because of white ribbons on their accreditations. Also I think that SiGma has great potential to really grow, but the idea of combining these two shows is not bad at all

Web Summit moved from Dublin to Lisbon, so that means it has the infrastructure to cope with a large conference. Looks like a nice sunny place too.
