I don't think it will reach $10K before the end of the year. We're only a few short weeks away.

Actually, it's already broken 10k. In a way. You see, if you held bitcoin prior to the August 1st hard fork, you had btc. Then the fork took place and you had bitcoin and bitcoin cash in equal amounts. Recently, bitcoin gold forked off on its own as well. Today, the price of all three coins added together exceeded $10,000 for the first time ever. Assuming you still hold them all, your value is 10k for each btc you held prior to Aug 1 2017.

From what little I have been reading and following on Reddit BitCoin is quite limited due to the 1mb blocksize. Many of the newer crypto currencies have already increased this and can process much more faster. I have been looking into investing a little money into Ethereum as that seems to be doing well lately and apparently has a lot of decent developers and backers on board.

I wonder how long it will take to get to 50k now. I'm thinking less than 2 years. The only way it will not get there is if the USA closed all exchanges. Then it would take another few years. What do I know. I am just guessing.
