    Default Betway...*****

Another one to the list. Got the email below:

    Hi,

We are writing to inform you that due to the changing regulatory landscape in the UK, we have made the decision to reduce our affiliate base in the UK. Consequently, it is with regret that we will be ending our affiliate relationship with you in relation to the UK market only.

The ability to meet evolving regulatory requirements within the UK is key to our business strategy, therefore we have taken this difficult decision to ensure we maintain the highest standards of marketing from a compliance and responsible gambling perspective. Although we will continue to work with selected partners, rest assured that this announcement covers the vast majority of our UK affiliate database. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication all our partners have invested in promoting the Betway brand in the UK.

This decision does not impact our non-UK activity, so if you are planning to, or already promote Betway in other territories across the globe then we look forward to carrying on our relationship with you in this regard.

We will be able to continue working with you up until the 30th April 2020 in the UK. In the meantime, our team will be on hand to respond to any queries you may have ?you can get in touch via [email protected].

The action required from you is to please remove any Betway promotional materials from UK facing assets by 30th April 2020. In accordance with our terms, all UK related commission will cease on 30th April 2020. Non-UK commission will continue to be paid.

Once again, we would like to reiterate our gratitude for your partnership with us in the UK and thank you for all of your efforts.

Not surprised to have also received this email, sort of saw it coming and started to feature them less and less.

Small for me but disappointing. Probably trimming the cost base ahead of a sale, rather than the flannel in the email.

Small for us too but how long before another domino falls? Suspect as with Sky Bet it will be only the top 1% or something of affiliates who are allowed to continue but guess we'll see.

Anyone making ?0k or more a month from them being sacked off?

I guess stripping all the accounts off affiliates will help them to pay their ?1.6M fine for being greedy and not protecting players or preventing fraud. It's ironic, we send the players, they then abuse them and we have to pay for it.

So they want you to continue sending non UK traffic, even though they won't pay for previously referred UK players?

They just did what WH, BWIn and many other companies have done to us , not long ago.

At the end - affiliates/ we pay it all.

When some betting company will come and say : " we are guilty and they will compensate all our loses" ?

Why should they continue to work in the UK but stop paying commissions on old players? It's just plain and simple theft.

They think affiliates are dumb enough to keep leading the players till the end of the month and then "good bye"

Yes - looks like it's still earning on non UK accounts but not on UK ones.

Protecting players? To me it seems the big issue is these blameless players who accept no responsibility for their actions. That is really why the industry is like this. Blameless pathetic UK society. Along with the millions of scruffs who were blowing credit card money and then pretending it was their kids.

You have people self excluding and then going out their way to gamble. Whose fault is it? It is their fault, their actions, their decision.

Back to the subject I send Betfair nothing, I have not done since they closed my Paddy Power account and chose to ignore me. They also closed my Betfair account along side Paddy Power. However out of the blue about six months or so later, my Betfair account was active again. I highly doubt I have sent them one new depositor in over a year, possibly two years.
