I've just uploaded an updated version of the Affiliate Terms and Conditions for Betfred so I wanted to make sure that affiliates knew about this as soon as possible and also get an opportunity to clarify exactly what has changed and why.
First of all, let me be clear... There are no retroactive changes to payment rates, qualifications or criteria relating to earnings in any way. Its been more about updating the terms to mention our new Mobile Betting Platform now that it is included in the Affiliate Programme.
Here are the changes that have been made:
Point 1.0 - Explicit mention of BetFred Mobile and BetFred Games being included in the list of products included in the Affiliate Programme.
Point 6.1 - Changed to reflect that fact that new affiliates who join us are now offered rev-share earnings as default. Affiliates wishing to switch to CPA can do so on request. Note that if you were on CPA last week then you are STILL on CPA; this only affects new affiliates who join. This needed to change as when I came in to BetFred we were just attracting way too much affiliate CPA fraud.
Point 6.2 and 6.3 - Wording needed to be changed as new affiliates no longer had a choice of payment model. Previously there were a few 'either/or' descriptions that no longer made any sense since the change to rev share as default.
Point 6.3.x - This section defines our Net Revenue and lists the deductions from gross for us to arrive at this figure. Mobile deductions were added to reflect the costs of the mobile platform operator. Deductions from gross to net for mobile activity is 15% currently.
Point 6.6 - This used to say that after a month-end we had 45 days to pay you! I've dropped this down to 30 although in reality it will still be likely that we make payments in the mobile of the following month between the 15th and 20th. We're looking to bring down the time taken for affiliate payments further during the rest of the year.
Point 6.9 - This is a new clause added that I wanted to use to give a clearer definition of Fraud Traffic. As I mentioned before, we getting way too much of this low-level fraud and I wanted to make sure we had a more definitive definition to point to. I think the wording is fair and transparency is one of the reasons I wanted to flag this up in a post of my own here. If you disagree then please do let me know.
Point 8.3 - Like all reputable programmes we define the kind of site where we do NOT want our logo to appear. This would usually be down to inappropriate content such as pornography, racism, homophobia and other discrimination etc etc. Here we just added the immortal 'in our sole oppinion' so that if we don't like it we can kick it out without getting into a discussion about the defining characteristics of porn v art. (If you DO want that porn v art discussion then you should definitly speak to Beacon as he has an extensive collection!)
There you go, that's my description of the changes we've made today, let me know if you have any questions!
