Betfair Account Closure

Figured this might be coming after the Paddy Power Takeover, but wondered if it had happened to anyone else this morning. Account will close after 20 days, with commission reduced to 5% during that period.

It's only around ?0/30 a month commission for me as I never really promoted them, but could be a big hit for some.

Same here, sent them over 3000 players over the years then stopped promoting so much. Commission dropped a lot after a few countries were disabled but it was still a few hundred pounds per month.

No prior contact, no messages in 3-4 years about promoting them or asking if I have any plans for their brand.

Hideous business practice - if only the idiot who thought this up knew that they could get 5-10k FTD's per year

We regret to inform you that we are terminating your participation in the Betfair Affiliate Programme (Account ID 2]]]] ). This decision was reached due to a lack of acquisition delivered for the Betfair brand in the last 12 months.

In accordance with Clause 14.1 of the Betfair Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions, your affiliate account will be closed on expiry of 20 Business Days from today. As you have not referred any new customers to Betfair in the last 3 months, we have also reduced your revenue share to 5% of Net Revenue in accordance with Clause 4.4 of the Affiliate Terms. This new rate will apply with immediate effect.

Please remove all Betfair branding (including content, links and materials) from your site and all of your channels (including, without limitation, your social media, online and network channels) within 30 days.

If you wish to discuss decision further or believe that you have been contacted by mistake please get in touch.

Yeah that's the email. Unfortunately I don't have the pulling power you seem to, so there was no chance I would be able to generate them the players they need.

Not a program I really want to promote anyway, and looking forward to removing them from the site.

Suppose we knew this was coming as you say with the Paddy merger. The account value with them is shockingly low, my lowest by a country mile, less than ?/account lifetime.

Beyond a joke now, what's the point in building a player base when they are all just changing the goalposts or closing accounts. So many UK facing bookies have stitched people up over the last year. Seriously considering sight sponsorship for flat fees instead of Rev share now.

we all should be pounding so much negative content towards these brands that do this, it's amazing you really can't trust anyone in the current industry climate. who's next?

I know it would feel good to write negative content about them but don't waste your time, even bad publicity is publicity (the Ryanair model!). Best thing to do is wipe them and don't mention their name anywhere.

Or, redirect the links on their current content to other providers until such time as you can get back to making some of the other suggested changes.

I received the same email. Another rogue group. Partners - yeah right!!

Struggling to stay motivated in the gambling world at the moment. With so many groups retrospectively changing terms and screwing affiliates, we can't afford to invest nearly as much time, effort and of course, cash, in brand and site promotion any longer. It's difficult to build a sustainable business when the rug keeps getting pulled from under you.

There is something wrong with the Betfair stats anyway judged by our results, which are abysmal for that firm by comparison to any other. I assume they are doing the same as Paddy Power with massive hidden deductions (86%!). TheGooner's post on the subject tells that story:

Agree, same here mate. I've never given them a big push but at times have sent players, only to receive measly commissions and seemingly tiny player values. It really doesn't add up based on comparisons with other similar programs, so I always thought these were rogue anyway.

It was the same with Sky Bet, Paddy and BetVictor. The programs that are rubbish in the first place set off alarm bells and I don't push them big, then it seems it's these same programs that add more and more screwy terms.

Hi, i was promoting betfair a long time ago, but last year the situation is 0.00 and 0 new depositors, i has registered, i has deposits, but, i has 0.00 revenue and 0.00 commissions and this is month after month, only 0.00. I was promotion, make betfair main bookmaker of my site and nothing happened, only 0.00, so how can people like me continue to work and to has every month 0.00? Can someone form betfair replay me and explain me. Why i has registered and no one from them deposit, but at the same tme has deposts, but again 0.00. I has one answer 1 year ago, answer was those depositors has been registered before 2011, so i can not earn from them. I dont know why?

Here the problem is 'account opening', but must say motivation is almost down to zero reading the comments here and concerning the effort I already had to put in creating an account. All because Betfair can't change details of an existing account.

It all the time keeps hanging on the "Sending your data, please wait"-screen. Even after hours, this screen doesn't disappear. I've tried with different browsers, but without any positive results.

Does anyone have the same problem?
