BET365 abuses Dutch law for their own benefit
bet365 abuses the new Dutch advertising law to cancel the majority of the Dutch affiliates. Obviously if this had to do with legislation there is not much bet365 can do. But... as usual it has not.
The legal department just interprets the new advertising rules to their own advantage so they can keep all the profits to themselves.

Well, at least bet365 continues to pay commission on players brought in prior to July 1. Unlike other Dutch operators like BetCity who refuse to pay commission on prior players. That's real abuse in my book.

They've done it to most markets, don't see why the Netherlands would be an exception. As Vince stated the main difference is they continue to pay on the existing players, where everyone else sees it as a "see ya" way to pocket all the commissions and continue commission free.

Paying for existing players is not a favor now is it?
My post is about "abusing legislation for their own benefit", nothing more, nothing less.

Well it is a favor in NL. Because almost all operators cease all commissions. I believe only bet365 and Livescorebet continue paying. I consider that a win.
FYI, affiliates in NL need - as of July 1 - to have a max of 5% visitors of 24 years or younger. Average amongst NL affiliates before July 1 is somewhere between 15%-25%. So, unless an affiliate uses click farms or other means to cook the numbers the 5% threshold is near impossible. Even with Age gate etc.
Is it a shambles? Yes it is. But the Dutch government is the one the blame imo. They let their underbelly speak instead of common sense.

At least they pay on past players when they could have not done that at all.

@affy - Absolutely, there's way too much corruption in this industry, for sure and I'm also sure that there's a lot more unethical behaviour to come. Who knows what's happening behind closed doors with these "so-called" companies. It's very disgusting.
