    Default Backlink Pyramide Strategy

Hi guys, im trying to figure out a backlink strategy a competition of mine is using, basically they implement a pyramide backlink strategy (2-3 tiers), but some things didnt made much sense, one thing im sure is that the backlinks pyramide were made in a period of 1-2 week, so is something made with that intent, but the page (money site/page) is much older.

So what it happen is that site created a post on a high DA website (tier 1), where focused in 1-2 specific keywords (ex: online betting where it redirects to a review of a bookmaker), and then the high DA website have 5 backlinks pointing to him, where 3 backlinks the article is almost the same with the keyword "online betting" pointing to the high DA, but then there is another keyword that is the name of the bookmaker pointing to a competition affiliate site review page, and the competition is not any website, it haves a very good DA and good traffic.

For me didn't made much sense, why sould in this tier having anchor to the competition? Did the "money site" have a backlink for free the the competition? Was it made in purpose ?

Can someone explain me if there is a reason?

    regards

You might be seeing cases where the users are buying guest posts on the high DA site, pointing at the review pages.

Or it could be a situation where the 2 sites are owned by the same person or group and they are pointing links at operator review pages.

No matter which scenario it is (or any other) was it on purpose? Yes.

And having keyword links that point to other sites, yes that is a strategy that can and does work, providing you are pointing at quality pages, and the links/keywords are pertinent to the pages they are on, and they make sense for the visitor.

To be absolutely certain we'd need the URLs and go take a look...but Rick has very likely hit the nail on the head.

So many link sellers offer tier links usually with bookmarks or 2-0 sites, they have all these worthless sites with similar subjects pointing to one and supposedly your juice is meant to go up lol... I have heard the theories though i have never seen an experiemnt with results after 3 months etc.. So does it work or is it smoke on sale by SEO sites wanting you to by links and or tools?

I think there are SEO people (a few) and maybe a few site owners (potentially that might be reading this...but probably not the ones that actually post) that know how to do it perfectly (and it's very likely to work/has been proven to work)...

....and then many that are following what they've read in 'backlinking SEO for slightly more than beginners' and not doing it optimally, so it's either hit or miss more by luck rather than judgment.

And of course there will be some SEOers that use it as a selling point without knowing if they can really pull it off.

and all this tiered stuff...I'll bet Google (if they wanted to, and they may do one day) could wipe it out with one press of the red button.

I see a youtube channel about SEO focusing on this matter. It might work but have tried it..
