When you created onlinecasinoselite.com, you explained that you like to gamble, believe life is a gamble, and consider your site’s main purpose is to help lovers of gambling to become better informed about casinos, software and affiliate programs. How did you develop this philosophy? How has all of this been working out for you?
This philosophy stems from the various experiences I’ve had during my journey. One can never be certain of anything in this life – death and life are like a red and a black on an immense imaginary table, so I think gambling has a significance far greater than what many people think. Onlinecasinoselite.com aims to clarify things for those who want to approach this universe that is gambling, giving comprehensive info on casinos, details on the software that produces them, affiliate programs, a guide to casino games, and more.
How did you get involved in the online gaming industry? Are you a full-time or a part-time webmaster?
I joined the online gaming industry in the 80s. It was simply a mix of passions that pulled me in: computers and gambling. Over time I learned techniques in languages like Java, HTML and CSS. I tried to understand the behavior of spiders and search engines, marketing and the right strategies, all with the intention of creating the Web site that became “Online Casinos Elite,” which has given me enormous satisfaction. Now I'm seriously thinking of becoming a full-time webmaster, due to a greater volume of work.
Tell us about “lunaraurora” and your ferocious-looking avatar. How did you choose them and what do they symbolize?
Lunar Aurora is a German black-metal band, and the wolf is my favorite animal for its behavior in nature. Sometimes I respect animals more than humans. The way that humans abuse animals is despicable.
How long was it before your gambling sites started earning you money?
After a few months, I started to see the first results.
How did you discover the GPWA? Has membership helped you in any way?
The GPWA is a “must” for those who want to make their voices heard and want to stay informed about updates that concern the industry and share ideas with other webmasters. It wasn't difficult to find the GPWA because it’s so popular. I recommend it to everyone who wants to pursue a webmaster career.
What are your thoughts on the value of displaying the GPWA Approved Portal seal on your site?
The GPWA seal signifies the best of what you would expect from a gaming portal. It’s a strong warranty as to the quality and safety of a site. It is therefore an honor and a great recognition to receive the GPWA seal.
Please describe the perfect affiliate program for you. What about the perfect affiliate manager?
The perfect affiliate program should leave no doubt in the webmaster’s mind about its reliability and honesty. It should have to provide full details on the movements of the players acquired, and allow the webmaster to check their database of players. A perfect affiliate manager should be an enterprising friend who meets your requirements, and takes the initiative in your favor, helping in the most difficult moments. We don’t like hearing about bogus affiliate programs, or affiliates who are disgruntled and/or unpaid. This is not productive for the industry and above all it is dishonest. I think the GPWA gives us a hand with this problem, too.
Working as an affiliate can be lonely. How do you manage to get the social interaction you need to stay sane, while continuing to put in the time necessary to be successful as an affiliate?
You must strike a balance, or you risk becoming pathological. I think it's obvious that spending all day tethered to a computer is not a normal thing; it’s alienating. Hey – there is life out there!
What’s the hardest thing about operating your site?
Having clean HTML code in all situations is a frustrating job, but can be useful in giving more quality to your site.
Do you gamble online? If so, what do you play?
I mostly play poker. Do NOT deprive me of my Saturday-night poker game – it’s the most relaxing moment of the week.
How do you spend your time off?
I like to take my car and tour the mountains with my family, visiting new places and eating well in some tavern.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Jamaica: it’s a natural paradise where you can find everything you want – and more.
If you had to pick five keys to success as an affiliate, what would they be, and why?
1. Focus: Always set yourself a target.
2. Humility: Study other major sites and learn from them with humility.
3. Courage: Don’t be afraid to try new things if your site isn’t perfect, but don’t overdo it – experiment a little bit at a time.
4. Technique: Learn HTML to perfection, along with other techniques to make your site responsive and dynamic.
5. Patience: If you want everything at once, this work is not for you. Sometimes you have to wait months if not years to get good results.
If you could change one thing about the gaming industry, what would it be, and why?
I would “delete” the envy among webmasters. We all need to understand that on the road to success we shouldn’t want to run over our competitors.
What do your friends and family think of your work as an affiliate?
They are happy about it. The work helps to improve our lifestyle, so why should they be unhappy?
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the industry?
Apart from the 5 points above, I would add that it is important to believe strongly in your dream. There will be difficult moments when you want to quit, but do not give up.
What’s the first concert you attended in person?
Napalm Death, Mad Poltergeist, Hellbastard (1984 - Genoa).
If you could visit any three places in the world, what would they be, and why?
Japan (I'm fascinated by technology), the Galapagos Islands (I love diving) and Patagonia (I admire unspoiled landscapes).
If you could have one "super power," what would it be? And why?
I'd like to be able to erase the bad aspects of human nature and bring it back to its "virgin"state, to give all of us a chance to redeem ourselves (uh... maybe I’m delusional).
What’s your all-time favorite TV show and your favorite movie?
I was a passionate fan of an old television series called "Samurai" (“Lone Wolf and Cub”). I love the classic Italian films. My favorite movie is "Il Vedovo” (“The Widower”), made in 1959 and starring my favorite actor, Alberto Sordi.
If you were casting a movie (with yourself in the starring role), who would play your romantic interest? And why?
If I were starring in a film, I’d like having Jennifer Lopez in my hand. She's the best diva ever, sings well, is an excellent actress, is bright and intelligent – but above all she is a sweet to taste!
And finally, what are three things that nobody knows about you?
Do you think if I had three secrets I never told anyone, I’d reveal them in a magazine that’s read by thousands of people?

What were some of the online casinos in the 80's? Surely that has to be a mis-print or a mis-statement there.
The earliest I remember the first casino that was "online" was "The Gambing Club" in late 1995 and then followed by Intercasino in 1996.
Or do you mean just online gaming in general in the 80's, like in video games?
