Hi Guys,

Ok, so I know every affiliate needs links. Everyone knows content is king... but if that is true, then links have to be the queen.

These are low quality links, so they won't get you ranking top 10 on google for casino overnight :P But I'm sure they can't hurt an established site (or else everyone could use it to de-index their competitors) and might actually help, if only a little.

Well what happens is that some webmaster post their stats on live pages that are linked to their sites and are spidered by the engines.

Then when those pages are spidered the stats will show the ip address of the browser you visited that site from.

The problem with this in theory is that if you visit from home, your HOME IP adress will show in the stats, not the ip of your website.

I could easily combat this by visiting from one of my web servers, but then the ip in the logs would show from my firewall since I have not done a one-to-one nat on all port 80 traffic.(in my particular case)

What the stat submitter tool posted here does is spoof your web address as the referring site to generate the traffic for the listed domains visited and thus your domain will show in their stats and thus be counted as a link on a page that is spidered.

The drawback is that this is seen as a very spammy link and does not carry much weight.

Also, if this particular tool would become very popular, the spamminess could actually climb....

I randomly picked a few of those sites to look at and, unless I'm blind, they didn't have any direct link to the website. Some did, but not all of the ones I checked. I'd rather have quality backlinks either way.
