Thumbs up GPWA Forum Score: 10 out of 10

    https://www.dietistaktuellt.com/about_us.asp :
"The GPWA was founded in 2001 to provide affiliate members with the means to collaborate with other online gaming affiliates around the world and to strengthen relationships with affiliate programs."

The result of the gpwa system has been fabulous. You guys make it easy to collaborate and strengthen relationships.

    I give this forum a 10 out of 10.

I'm using this poll to give feedback on two things that could be improved:

    1) I really don't understand why you still haven't migrated to SSL
    2) Each time I reply to a thread, I get auto-subscribed for emails on new posts. I'd really love to know how I can switch this off permanently.

Besides that, it's the only gambling affiliate forum that I visit regularly (almost daily).

Go to https://www.dietistaktuellt.com/forum/profile.php?do=editoptions, go to the 2nd block "Messaging & Notification", scroll a little bit down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and change the drop down menu from "Instantly, using email" to "Do not subscribe".

In addition delete the folder with your current thread subscriptions:

I think GPWA is excellent (10 out of 10 for me) I’ve only noticed a couple of small issues which are:

1). Sometimes when I click on any link in the forum, the loading bar will load up partially and just stay stuck there.
2). Every now and then I still get a 500 error message.

100%. I posted a thread a few days ago and got 2 replies. 6 or 7 years ago that would have probably been around 10-15

Sadly, this is true. I've posted asking for info or advice a few times in the last couple of months and literally zero replies.

It's good to converse with 20+ regular affiliates that post and the handful of active AMs.
But it's a long way from it's goals.

So 7/10 from me as I visit most days.

I find the forum good to share opinions and some times learn from other colleagues, but the participation is not that high, I have seen relevant questions with maybe 1 or 2 answers only.

    For me, it's a 7/10

Certainly it is in our plans to migrate the GPWA website to SSL, and has been for a while. The process is more complicated than I wish it were, which is part of why it has not happened yet (as an example, one prerequisite is to migrate our ad server infrastructure to use SSL). We do have e-commerce sites that we have migrated to SSL, because those were obviously a higher priority, but there is not that sort of especially sensitive information as a focus on the GPWA website. We have more recently completed the work to enable our sites to use the Lets Encrypt SSL certificates and renew them automatically, as part of an overall plan to use SSL certificates on the hundreds of websites we manage.

    I gave it 8/10.

GPWA has been a real game changer for me and my content writing business, while I also learned a lot with regards to building my first websites from scratch.

As many of you say, the activity has died down of late, would love to see members get more involved, myself included.

Nevertheless, I really appreciate how most of us here are happy to help fellow GPWA members with their valuable advice, hope that will continue to be the case.

This is one of the few forums that I've started visiting regularly, and after lurking for a while I can see there's a lot of really experienced and knowledgeable people here from a variety of backgrounds which I think is a really important factor when it comes to a forum, community, website or whatever you want to call it.

I've seen barely any spam, likewise I can't say that I've seen any bad actors causing trouble, trolling or just talking crap so you must have some good moderators too.

I knew there was a reason this was one of the few forums that I joined and bookmarked way back when, I only regret that I didn't post more regularly, but I've never really been a big forum person.

I'll give you an 8.7 - but my opinion probably counts for little since I'm new here and all.

It's the best gambling forum, indeed. Twitter is the best all themes social, if you don't spam it.

We can all help to make this a more popular forum. What's your motivation? Socializing is very important in successful positive psychology. Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_psychology

Gambling is your career industry, and this is the best forum available.

For the religious, continue to serve others, using the Golden Rule.

Sorry but I beg to differ. The internet being what it is these days, SSL encryption is a basic must-have for any site. SSL on the GPWA, will STOP member login details being transmitted in plain-text. As it stands now, all members login data is not secure.

I don't think people expect the GPWA to have a EV (Extended Validation) certificate. Instead, Lets Encrypt SSL would be fine and dandy

    Edit:
Michael... Knowing you likely have a million and one things on your plate, at any given time. Things like this SSL issue, can get lost in paperwork. The SSL topic does seem to come up ever 6 months or so.

Hence, can you provide members with a ball-park time frame, for when you plan to initate SSL for the GPWA site?

If we can establish a date, then we ALL have a better chance of seeing this important security addition, added.

Earlier in this thread I made the following comment

Certainly I do have a lot on my plate, but the SSL issue is not one that has or will get lost in paperwork. As mentioned previously in the post I quoted above, ad server work is a prerequisite. And that is a moderately significant task unto itself. The ad server software we are currently using is obsolete, and an important task for us, that we currently expect to complete by the end of May, is to migrate to new ad server software. I expect the migration to the new software will include support for SSL. Since there are ads on pretty much every page of the GPWA website, once that process is complete we can then move on to migrate individual pages within the website to use SSL.

We manage important company objectives using a methodology called OKRs (objectives and key results). Migrating to the new ad server software is one of three OKRs for our hosting infrastructure staff this quarter. It would not be one of the three currently active OKRs for that department if it was not viewed as being very important.
